6 minutes drive 

Fancy a workout, fresh air or just a moment to be in awe of Auckland city? Mt Eden is 196m above sea level and naturally offers some of the best 360 degree views of the city. Grab a picnic with some delicious treats and refreshing drinks and be amongst this amazing backdrop especially during sunset or sunrise. 

6 minutes drive 

If you want to skip the climb or drive (no judgment) of Mt Eden, head over to Eden Garden, a 5.5-acre flower-filled garden at its base. Visit the garden for inspiration, a picnic, dine at the cafe or purchase a souvenir plant to take back home found outside their reception.

3 minutes drive - 15 min walk

A great little urban park with fun activities for all ages featuring a water splash-pad, extensive playground, children’s learn-to-ride cycle track and a basketball court for the adults. Take a picnic lunch to the band rotunda or under the shady trees and remember to take a photo with the ‘Boy Walking’, a 5.6m high sculpture towering above the streetscape of Dominion Road. 

8 minutes drive

For more than 100 years Eden Park has been the home of Auckland Cricket and Auckland Rugby. It is a hub for sporting excellence, a state-of-the-art entertainment centre and a destination for fans from across the world. If you don’t have a ticket for one of their games or concerts there are tours and experiences they offer as fun ways to be part of the action.

15 minutes drive

Home to at least 130 different species and over 2800 animals it has the largest collection of wildlife in New Zealand. There’s lots to see and do all year round at Auckland Zoo, including events, keeper talks and more. Explore their website to make the most of seeing their amazing New Zealand and exotic animals on the day. 

13 minutes drive

This is one of New Zealand’s first Museums. The Museum tells the story of New Zealand, its people, and its place in the Pacific. Hosting a wide range of exhibitions, installations, presentations, programmes, and events, it’s a perfect indoor exploration for all ages. 

18 minutes drive

Iconic, picturesque, a little piece of paradise on Auckland’s waterfront. Tempt your tastebuds with an international culinary adventure at Mission Bay, it is the perfect place to relax, unwind and spend time with friends and family. The Selwyn Reserve has plentiful amenities, including changing rooms, drinking fountains, barbecues, picnic tables, beachside seating and an outdoor fitness area.

With a fully stocked snack bar of ice cream, popcorn and wine, ample street parking and a selection of critically acclaimed films, Lido Cinema should definitely be included on your next date night or day out with the crew.
